About STK Design

Hi I am Sharon, the owner of STK Design.  I am so pleased to see you here.  Please read my story below, and feel free to leave a kind word or comment!

My Story

STK Design began as a lock down hobby, well who didn't find a hobby during that time?  I really needed to find something to break up the work / home environment, especially as my day job was very stressful and I was finding it extremely hard to switch off at the end of the day whilst working from home.  To be honest I actually became quite obsessed with jigsaws to start with but found it quite sad to dismantle them once complete.  One of my friends at the time had started a hobby with resin and encouraged me to have a go.  Well, I was completely hooked.  Move aside jigsaws, I began making key rings and jewellery for friends and family.  Thanks to their encouragement and support I slowly built up a client base and began moving into ornaments, coasters and learning about flower preservation.  I do also enjoy painting and I love working with clay, in March 2025 I got a mini potters wheel, so look out for some pottery pieces.

Mindful arts and crafts

I believe that no matter your skill level, arts and crafts are fantastic for improving mental health.  You can pick up a pencil, a brush or some other medium and achieve peace of mind by unlocking your creative side

Mindful arts and crafts are where you try to be fully present and focused on whatever you are working on, not allowing your mind to wander back to stressful thoughts.

I have genuinely seen a huge improvement in my mental health since I started practicing mindful arts and crafts and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to find balance and calm.

The outcome

Due to my mindful process, every item I create has had my full attention, love and care.  Every decision on colour or layout was made with intention.  I even I talk to the flowers I preserve, reminding them of their importance.  I love what I do, and so any creation from me will be a handmade product made with love.

Thank you for reading

Much love,

Sharon
